After a two year Covid caused absence, this very popular program, perhaps our signature event,  is back.  Managing your life after the passing of a loved one is always very difficult. And when this event is compounded by the demands of managing the loved one’s affairs, a very challengingsituation can become overwhelming. Planning for this day will help to make it less traumatic for you who survive. Our panel of experts in Financial and Estate Planning and Grief Management will offer strategies and techniques that will make this time more manageable. 

These Specialists are:

Probate and Estate Planning Attorney, John A. Garner:

Mr. Garner is a Partner in the Galbraith, PLLC Law Firm. A graduate of St. Louis University, Bellarmine University (BA), University of Louisville Law School (JD) and the University of Florida (LL.M) in Taxation, he has practiced Probate and Estate Planning, Taxation, Business and Corporate, and Real Estate Law in Florida, Indiana and Georgia for nearly 40 years. Mr. Garner serves his profession and community as a member of many organizations and committees.

Financial Advisor, Shannon Holland:

The son of an Air Force non-commissioned officer, Shannon was born in Guam and was raised in Maine, California and Virginia. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and a Masters of Engineering from Old Dominion University and honored his father’s legacy by serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves. After five years as a civil engineering consultant, he earned a Masters of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary. He began his career in financial services at Wachovia Securities in 2002 and joined Raymond James in 2008.

Insurance Specialist, Marissa Acel Jencura:

Ms Acel-Jencura represents the Raymond James Insurance Group as the Regional Insurance and Planning Specialist for Florida, Georgia  and Mississippi.  Using her 16 years of experience in insurance and financial services, she assists Raymond James clients in all facets of their insurance needs. Everyone will benefit from her comments about Long Term Care Insurance and the use of insurance solutions in Estate Planning. 
Avow Hospice:  Mark Belland, Community Liaison:
 Avow is a Collier County, Florida-based nonprofit healthcare organization that provides hospice care, non-hospice palliative care, and grief and loss support. Avow serves people of all ages, from infants to the most senior of citizens.

If we do preplanning correctly, we only have to do it once which makes the transition easier. Please join us on Thursday, February 24th at 3:00PM at the Pelican Bay Community Center.
