The meeting began at 3:00 pm, called to order by President Sanchez.

Present were 8 board members:

Hank Rossi, Director

President Sanchez determined that a quorum was present and moved to approve the October 10, 2019 board minutes. Motion passed.

President Sanchez announced the addition of new board member Hank Rossi.

Treasurer Domenie gave the Treasurer’s report.  The current cash balances in the PBPOA bank accounts at Iberia Bank are as follows: checking is $11,647.06 and the CD is $153,358.64 totaling $165,005.70. New membership invitation invoices for 2020 will be going out late November/early December.

  1. Old Business
    • Denise McLaughlin, board member of the Pelican Bay Services Division updated members of PB Services Division decision to replace all street signs with new signs that will have the strength to withstand several hurricanes. She informed the PBPOA that the survey has been completed for the sidewalks and there are bids out for design in concrete. Currently there are no plans for storm drain pipe replacement.
    • President Sanchez advised that the new South Beach restaurant was scheduled to open soon and for members to check with the foundation for grand opening dates.
  1. New Business
    • President Sanchez presented Joanne Hobin with a donation of $500.00 for the annual Toys for Tots campaign. Hobin told members this is her 26th year volunteering with the organization with Pelican Bay having the largest number of volunteers for a community in the county.
    • Susan O’Brian with the PBSD updated members that Phase I of the sidewalk replacement should be complete by summer 2021. Full completion is scheduled for 2023. She will keep the board and its members updated with the progress.
  1. Member Comments
    • There is still concern over red tide and the long term effects it will have on health and the ecosystem. Several members brought up the concern over the traffic that could be a possibility if the county builds a parking garage at Sea Gate beach access. There is also concern over the Ritz Carlton expanding its property.
