PRESERVATION NEEDS PARTICIPATION – PB Post Article
During this unusual time of quarantine here in Pelican Bay, I have been reminiscing about all of the positive experiences that have pleasured me since deciding to spend the winter months in this paradise. As I look back at my first experiences as a seasonal resident, it occurs to me just how much I took for granted regarding the quality of my surroundings.
We have so many superb amenities to appreciate right here in Pelican Bay. The beauty of our surroundings along the streets, berms, beach, and community facilities available to residents is really magnificent. The staff helps in a courteous manner that makes residents feel comfortable.
There is a plethora of recreational activities available to residents such as walking or biking on the berm, fitness classes, tennis, spa facilities, lessons, lectures, nature walks, luncheons, coffees, dances, movies, tile, card and board games, along with kayak and sailing!
Folks, it is not an accident that we live in an exceptional community, and this cannot exist without the help of interested people who want to see it continue to grow in a manner that is pleasing for all of us. The Pelican Bay Property Owners Association serves as a conduit for its members to take pertinent issues that affect their lifestyle to the people who can make a difference for them.
We need for you to join us by sending a check for $50 to our office: PBPOA, 1110 Pine Ridge Road, Ste. 303, Naples, Florida 34108. Please download the 2020 Membership Form here and include it with your check. We will be sending e-mail notifications to our members to keep them informed, but unless we have your contact information via e-mail it will be impossible for us to do our job efficiently. If you are already a member but are not receiving our e-mails, please contact us so that we may remedy the problem.
We are presently faced with several issues such as potential large scale growth to the North of us with a future development project by One Naples. This is a mixed-use, residential development that has severe implications for increased traffic along Vanderbilt Beach Road, and U.S. 41, as well as even more demand on already crowded white sand beaches. In addition, a planned expansion of the marina which potentially will create increased boat traffic into the Gulf along with more noise and more fishing off shore in front of us.
Other pertinent issues include: red tide, sidewalk and pipe repair/replacement, use of pesticides, protection of wildlife and quality of water. Elected officials do listen when we as a group of concerned P.B. residents raise concerns.
So please do join us to help preserve our positive experiences here in P.B., and participate by reading our communications, attending our meetings, and voicing your opinions.
